Short answer Looka is an AI logo maker: you enter your company name and a few preferences, its AI generates designs within minutes, and you edit one yourself and buy it for $35, $72 or a Brand Kit subscription from $96 a year. Logomint is a logo design service: a senior designer from our team creates your logo for a one-off €129, €199 or €299, with first concepts within 48 hours. Looka suits a placeholder, a very small budget or a logo you need today. Logomint suits founders who want an original logo made by a person and full ownership of the whole design.

Logomint is our own service, so we’ve kept this comparison to facts you can check. Every Looka fact below comes from Looka’s own pages (pricing, how it works, terms and help centre), checked on 15 October 2026, with links at the end.

Price: one-off packages vs a subscription

Looka is free to try: you pay only when you want to download a logo. Its pricing page offers two routes.

Logo only, one-time purchase. The Basic package costs $35 for one PNG file; Looka’s help centre describes it as a low-res 1000 × 1000 px file with a coloured background. The Premium package costs $72 and includes high-res PNG, EPS, SVG and PDF files, colour variations (including transparent backgrounds), unlimited post-purchase changes, full ownership and lifetime technical support.

Brand Kit subscription, billed annually. At $96 a year, you get the logo with unlimited changes, high-res and vector files, and more than 300 branded templates, from social posts and business cards to invoices and brand guidelines. The $129-a-year Brand Kit Web adds an AI-generated website. Looka says you keep full ownership of your logo after the subscription ends, and its terms say subscriptions renew automatically.

Looka showed prices in US dollars for our location. Its terms say fees are charged in US dollars and that EU VAT may be added on top for customers in the EU. Each purchase covers one brand name, so sub-brands with different names need separate purchases.

If you need a logo you can use on signage and print, the realistic Looka price is the $72 Premium package: a low-res file with a coloured background won’t sit well on photos or large formats (see which logo file formats you need).

At Logomint, you pay once: €129, €199 or €299, with no subscription. Every plan includes transparent, vector, printable and source files. Premium adds brand guidelines, stationery design, a 3D mockup and a social media kit, made by your designer rather than filled into templates. Optional extras, such as a logo animation or 24-hour rush delivery, are priced before you pay.

On price alone, Looka is clearly cheaper.

According to Looka’s “how it works” page, you enter your company name and pick the logo styles, colours and symbols you like. Its AI uses these as inspiration and shows you designs within minutes. You then change colours, fonts, layouts, symbols and spacing, and preview the result on mockups. Looka’s help centre says its icons and fonts come from a database, and its terms mention symbols supplied by The Noun Project.

That makes Looka fast and hands-on, but the creative decisions are yours: nobody reads a brief or tells you when a layout isn’t working.

At Logomint, a senior designer from our team creates your logo from your brief. We don’t use AI to generate logos. The trade-off is time: you wait up to 48 hours for first concepts rather than a few minutes.

Looka’s help centre says the copyright applies to your logo as a whole, not to its individual elements. Because its icons and fonts come from a database, Looka says it can’t guarantee the copyright of individual elements, and it doesn’t remove them from the database after you buy. In practice, another business could use the same symbol in its own logo. Its terms add that third-party symbols are used at your own risk and that everything is provided “as is”. For trademarks, Looka says it can’t give legal advice and that you’ll need an attorney.

There’s also the question of AI authorship. In its January 2025 report on copyrightability, the US Copyright Office said AI output “can be protected by copyright only where a human author has determined sufficient expressive elements”, and that prompts alone aren’t enough. Creative changes and arrangements by a person can count, but where the line falls is decided case by case.

Trademark is a separate test: it looks mainly at whether a logo is distinctive and whether it clashes with earlier marks. A symbol that other businesses can also use doesn’t help on either point. We explain the difference in can you trademark an AI-generated logo.

At Logomint, your logo is created by a person for your brand, and you own it in full once the project is paid and delivered. Whichever route you take, run a trademark search before you file.

Files and ownership

Looka’s Premium package includes high-res PNG and PDF files, vector EPS and SVG files, transparent and coloured-background versions, and all-black and all-white versions, with full ownership for commercial or non-commercial use (within the copyright limits above). The Basic package is one low-res PNG. Your files are available to download straight after purchase, and Looka also emails them to you.

Every Logomint plan includes a transparent logo, vector, printable and source files, and you own the final logo once your project is paid and delivered.

Edits and revisions

On Looka, you make the changes yourself. Its help centre says you can go back into the editor after purchase, change colours, fonts, spacing, symbols and layout as often as you like, and download the files again. The one thing you can’t change is the text of your company name; for that, you contact support.

At Logomint, changes are made by your designer. Starter includes 2 revisions, and Growth and Premium include unlimited revisions. Final files arrive within 7 days.

In short, Looka gives you unlimited freedom to edit but no second opinion; Logomint gives you a designer who turns your feedback into the change.

Refunds

Looka’s terms say one-time fees are non-refundable. Its help centre says it doesn’t issue refunds once your logo has been downloaded or emailed to you; if it hasn’t been, and you’re within 7 days of purchase, support can issue a refund. Since Looka emails your files after purchase, treat the sale as final. Brand Kit subscriptions can be refunded if you ask within 7 days of paying and no files have been downloaded or used outside the platform. To its credit, you can design for free first, so you see exactly what you’re buying.

At Logomint, you can get a full refund before you approve a concept, for any reason, and within 7 days of approving one as long as the final files haven’t been delivered. We ask for one round of revisions first, because most concerns are solved there. The details are in our refund policy.
