Short answer DesignCrowd is a crowdsourcing platform: you post a brief and a budget, designers submit logos in a contest (DesignCrowd says 25 to 100+ designs), and you pick a winner. Projects start from $99, plus fees: a posting fee of up to US$129, a 4% transaction fee and, on larger packages, a 20% project management fee. Logomint is a logo design service: one fixed price (€129, €199 or €299), a senior designer from our team, first concepts in 48 hours and a money-back guarantee. DesignCrowd suits founders who want to see many ideas. Logomint suits founders who want one designer, one price and no fees.

Logomint is our own service, so we’ve kept this comparison to facts you can check. Every DesignCrowd fact below comes from DesignCrowd’s own pages, checked on 15 October 2026, with links at the end. DesignCrowd doesn’t publish its package prices outside its order form, so we quote the figures it does publish.

Price: what you actually pay

DesignCrowd sells contests in packages, but it only shows their names and prices inside the order form. Publicly, it says projects start “from as little as $99”, and that packages differ in price, number of designs and what’s included.

What DesignCrowd does publish is its fees, charged on top of the design budget:

  • A posting fee of up to US$129, depending on the project type. It isn’t refunded.
  • A 4% transaction fee, also not refunded.
  • A 20% project management fee on packages of US$200 and over.
  • Optional upgrades, such as a private project, a featured listing or an NDA, priced at checkout and not refundable.

A brand style guide isn’t included in DesignCrowd’s logo packages; it costs extra, through a separate project.

At Logomint, the price on the pricing page is the price you pay: €129, €199 or €299, with no fees on top. Premium (€299) includes brand guidelines, stationery design, a 3D mockup and a social media kit. To compare every option, try our free logo cost calculator.

How it works

In a DesignCrowd contest, you write a brief, pick a package and a deadline of 3, 5 or 10 days. Designers start submitting within hours; they can’t see each other’s work. DesignCrowd says to expect 25 to 100+ designs, depending on your budget and brief. You give feedback during the contest, then have up to 14 days after it closes to pick a winner, followed by a 7-day handover where the winning designer prepares your final files.

DesignCrowd also offers a One Designer project: you hire one designer (you can pick a specific one from their portfolio) for a lower budget, with a $10–$30 posting fee. You get 1 to 3 designs, 3 rounds of revisions and, usually, a final design in under a week.

At Logomint, there’s no contest to run and no designer to choose. You fill in a short brief, your first concepts arrive within 48 hours, and your final files within 7 days. Our free logo brief generator helps you write the brief for either option.

In a contest, your logo comes from DesignCrowd’s community of freelance designers, and the quality of entries varies with your budget and brief: DesignCrowd notes that very short or very long deadlines attract fewer designs. Revisions in a contest have no cap, but designers you haven’t selected may decline to revise or ask to be paid.

At Logomint, your logo is drawn by a senior designer from our own team. We don’t use AI to generate logos (more in can you trademark an AI-generated logo).

Files and ownership

DesignCrowd says a logo comes with 1 EPS vector file, 1 large JPG and 1 small JPG, and sometimes the AI source file. There’s no transparent PNG in that list, which you’ll want for your website and social media (see which logo file formats you need).

Ownership transfers to you for the design you buy: DesignCrowd’s terms transfer all rights, including intellectual property, from the designer to you. Those terms also give DesignCrowd a permanent, non-exclusive licence to show the purchased work for promotion.

Every Logomint plan includes a transparent logo, vector, printable and source files, and you own the final logo once your project is paid and delivered.

Refunds and guarantees

DesignCrowd’s money-back guarantee refunds your project budget if you ask within 60 days of posting, before any files have been provided, without having picked a winner and as long as the contest isn’t “guaranteed” (committing to pay a winner waives the refund). DesignCrowd keeps the posting fee, upgrades and transaction fees. If no designs arrive at all, it refunds the budget and the posting fees. One Designer projects are refundable by default, with their own conditions.

At Logomint, you can get a full refund before you approve a concept, for any reason, and within 7 days of approving one as long as the final files haven’t been delivered. We ask for one round of revisions first, because most concerns are solved there. The details are in our refund policy.

When DesignCrowd is the better choice

  • You want to see dozens of different ideas from many designers before choosing one.
  • You like running a contest and have a few days to give feedback as designs come in.
  • You’ve found a DesignCrowd designer whose portfolio you love and want a One Designer project with them.
  • You’re happy to compare and judge many entries yourself.

When Logomint is the better choice

  • You want one price with no fees on top: no posting fee, no transaction fee, no management fee.
  • You don’t want to run a contest. One senior designer works on your brief, and you give feedback to one person.
  • You want a complete file set, including a transparent PNG and the source file, in every plan.
  • You need to move fast: first concepts in 48 hours, final files within 7 days.
