Short answer You don’t need a €5,000 agency to launch with a real brand. For a logo plus the essentials (brand guidelines, stationery, a social media kit), fixed-price design services cost about €300 to €800: Logomint from €299, Softriver from $480, Logoworks from $499 and Logo Design Valley from $799. A 99designs brand identity contest starts at €569 if you want many ideas. Design subscriptions such as ManyPixels ($699 a month) suit ongoing design work rather than a one-off brand. Small agencies like Knapsack Creative start around $1,650 to $2,500, with strategy included.

Logomint is our own service, and it’s in this list. To keep it fair, we compared everyone on the same points, show where others are the better fit, and link every fact about other companies to their own pages (checked on 20 October 2026).

What “affordable branding” should include

A logo on its own isn’t a brand. To launch properly, a small business usually needs:

  • A custom logo, with versions for light and dark backgrounds, and vector and source files you own
  • Brand guidelines: colours, typography and how to use the logo
  • Stationery: at least a business card
  • A social media kit: profile pictures and covers that match

That’s the bundle we compared. If you only need the logo, see our best logo design services for startups instead, and for the difference between the two, logo vs brand identity.

How we compared

  • Price for a logo plus brand identity, as published by each company, in the currency it shows
  • What the package includes: concepts, revisions, guidelines, stationery, social kit
  • Who designs: an in-house team, vetted freelancers or a contest
  • Speed to first concepts and final files
  • Refund terms, as written in each company’s terms, not only its pricing page

Prices change, and some sites show prices for your location. Always check the total, with tax, before paying.

1. Logomint: best for a complete starter brand at a fixed price

Logomint is a logo and brand identity design service. You choose a plan, fill in a short brief, and a senior designer from our team creates your concepts. The plan that covers a full starter brand is Premium:

  • €299 Premium: 3 logo concepts, unlimited revisions, branding analysis, brand guidelines, stationery, a social media kit and a 3D mockup
  • €129 Starter and €199 Growth if you only need the logo
  • First concepts within 48 hours (24 hours with rush delivery, +€59), final files within 7 days, all source files included, and the logo is yours
  • A money-back guarantee: a full refund before you approve a concept, and full or partial refunds for 14 days after; on Premium, the refund covers the logo stage before the extras are produced

You can see what a full identity looks like in our case studies, such as 14OhFour, a legal AI consultancy.

Choose something else if you want dozens of directions from different designers (a contest does that), or a strategic rebrand with workshops and research (that’s agency work).

2. Softriver: a similar fixed-price kit, in dollars

Softriver is a fixed-price service with human designers (“We never rely on AI,” it says). When we checked:

  • $280 Basic: 1 logo concept, 2 revisions, colour palette, typography, a 3D mockup and stationery designs
  • $480 Premium Branding: 3 logo concepts, brand guidelines, logo usage guidelines, a social media kit and a business card
  • $987 Brand Ecosystem: adds ad creatives, social posts and packaging
  • Initial concepts typically within 48 hours of the intake form
  • A full refund before you approve the first concept, then partial refunds depending on days and revision rounds, as set out in its refund policy

Choose something else if you’d rather pay in euros, or want to see more than 3 concepts.

3. Logoworks: best for several designers’ takes

Logoworks works with freelancers, each “hand-vetted” by its Creative Director, about half of them in the US. Logo packages run from $199 (4 designs from 2 designers) to $699 (20 designs from 10 designers). For a brand identity:

  • Custom Full Brand Design, from $499: a logo, a two-sided business card, letterhead and envelope
  • Custom Startup Design, from $1,299: the same plus a custom website design
  • Initial concepts in 3 business days, “usually sooner”
  • A money-back guarantee; its terms say you must ask within ten business days of the initial concepts, and that asking for additional revisions ends the right to a refund

We didn’t find brand guidelines or a social media kit in its brand packages, so ask before ordering if you need them.

Choose something else if you need guidelines and a social kit in the price.

Logo Design Valley’s logo-only packages start at $129 (3 concepts) and go to $299 (7 concepts from 2 designers). Its brand identity tier costs more:

  • $799 Standard Package: unlimited revisions, a stationery kit (business card, letterhead, envelope, email signature, favicon), a social media kit and brand guidelines
  • $1,499 Premium Package: adds a logo animation, print designs and mockups
  • “Love it or it’s free” on its homepage; its terms say refunds aren’t available once revisions based on your feedback begin, or for final logo files

Choose something else if €299 to €480 for the same kind of kit fits your budget better.

5. 99designs: best for seeing dozens of ideas

On 99designs, you run a contest and designers from its community compete. Its “Logo & brand identity pack” includes a logo, a stationery set (business card, letterhead, envelope) and a Facebook cover. When we checked, from Germany:

  • €569 Bronze, €859 Silver, €1,599 Gold, €2,399 Platinum, excluding sales tax, with about 30 to 50 concepts
  • A contest takes about 7 days, plus up to 10 days to finalise files for multi-item packs
  • A 60-day money-back guarantee on contests, except those that have entered the final round or have a winner
  • No brand guidelines in the pack; 99designs sells those separately

Choose something else if you’d rather work with one designer, or need guidelines in the price. Full comparison: Logomint vs 99designs.

6. Knapsack Creative: best for a brand plus a website

Knapsack Creative is a small agency that builds brands, mostly alongside Squarespace websites. Its Fire-Starter package (simple logo, favicon, colour palette, typography, mockups) was listed at $2,500 on its package card and $1,650 in its FAQ when we checked; the Wildfire package (primary and secondary logos, a strategy session, a brand kit, social templates) at $4,950 and $3,750 respectively. Brands can be ready in about 2 weeks. We didn’t find a refund policy for branding work.

Choose something else if you don’t need a new website, or want stationery and guidelines included.

7. Design subscriptions: best for ongoing design work

Subscriptions give you a design team for a monthly fee, with unlimited requests:

  • ManyPixels, from $699 a month (less when billed quarterly or yearly). Logos and brand guidelines are included; first drafts land the next business day. It doesn’t offer refunds.
  • Penji, from $995 a month, with in-house designers and a first draft of a logo in 1 to 2 days. It refunds the first month within 30 days on monthly plans.
  • Awesomic and Designity cost more for brand work: Awesomic includes logo and brand identity from $2,995 a month, and Designity starts at $5,995 a month.

That’s good value if you need ads, social posts and slides every month. For a one-off brand, a fixed-price service usually costs less than a single month.

Which one fits you?

Your situation Good fit
Launching, want a logo and starter brand this month Logomint or Softriver
Want to see several designers’ takes Logoworks
Want dozens of ideas and can judge a contest 99designs
Also need a new website Knapsack Creative
Need design every month A design subscription

Before you pay anyone

  • Ask for the total price, with tax and fees, and in which currency.
  • Check what the brand package actually includes: guidelines, stationery and a social kit aren’t always in it.
  • Make sure you get vector and source files (which formats you need) and that you own the final logo.
  • Read the refund terms, not only the guarantee on the pricing page: most limit refunds once you approve a concept or ask for revisions.
  • Watch for red flags like stock icons sold as custom work.
